Kendriya Vidyalaya Banbasa Cantt is situated in the Army Cantonment at Banbasa, Champawat district, Uttarakhand, near the Indo-Nepal border. The Vidyalaya was established in 1982 with the objective of providing quality education to the children of Defence personnel, Central Government employees and the local community.
The school started with Class I and one section in each class and gradually expanded up to Class X. The first batch of students appeared for the Class X Board Examination in 1988. With the growing demand for quality education, the Vidyalaya was upgraded to the Senior Secondary level and expanded to two sections, offering Science, Commerce and Humanities streams at the +2 level.
The Vidyalaya is presently functioning in a building provided by the Army Cantonment. Despite its challenging location and infrastructural limitations, it remains committed to academic excellence, discipline, holistic development and the values of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan , serving the educational needs of the Defence community and the people of the region.
